Twenty One Pilots Mapped Their Rise Across Columbus

For Twenty One Pilots, a hometown return in 2017 meant moving through Columbus instead of settling into one room. Tour de Columbus comprised five shows, beginning in the 300-capacity Basement and reaching arena scale as the duo closed its Blurryface chapter.

On June 22, the route brought them to the outdoor stage at EXPRESS LIVE!, now KEMBA Live! The promoter’s listing marks the date sold out, with MUTEMATH on the bill.

The run turned venue size into part of the story. Fans could see the distance between a small club and an arena within a single hometown series. EXPRESS LIVE! belonged to that progression: an outdoor stop in a week organized around the places, and the audience, that made Columbus home.
