The Doobie Brothers Preserved a Summer Night at Wolf Trap

The Doobie Brothers recorded and filmed their July 25, 2004 show at Wolf Trap in Virginia. Live at Wolf Trap preserved a full touring lineup, pairing familiar songs with material that appeared less often in concert.
Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons were joined by longtime members including John McFee and drummers Michael Hossack and Keith Knudsen. A horn section added another layer to the ensemble, captured in the film as well as on the recording.
The release gives Wolf Trap a lasting place in the band’s catalog. A summer date at the performing-arts park became a concert people could revisit, with the musicians and expanded arrangements fixed to one performance rather than assembled from an anonymous run of shows.
