On July 23, 2002, Wilco played The Pageant three months after the commercial release of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. The album had survived a difficult path to release; the St. Louis concert captured the band taking those songs onto the road.
Twenty years later, Wilco and Nonesuch returned to that tape. Titled Snoozin’ at The Pageant, the complete concert became part of the album’s anniversary editions.
The inclusion made The Pageant the setting for an official live companion to one of Wilco’s defining records. A 2002 tour date became part of the album’s long-form history.
