Widespread Panic’s Sixtieth Straight Red Rocks Sellout

Widespread Panic’s June 30, 2019 show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre was the band’s sixtieth consecutive sellout there. The number described a long relationship with a venue, not just demand for one night.
The Sunday performance leaned into older material. Pilgrims opened the show, and the first set included a Driving Song sequence. In the encore, the band returned to the Dillards’ There Is a Time, which it had previously played only once.
Those choices gave the milestone a musical shape beyond the attendance statistic. Red Rocks had become a place to return to familiar songs while still making room for a rarity. The sixtieth sellout records where that relationship stood in June 2019; it should not be confused with the band’s current total.
