Spafford arrived at Felton Music Hall on September 27, 2026 ready to stretch. Shelter in Place ran past twenty-eight minutes, while the rest of the set moved between the band’s own improvisational material and some unexpected turns through other artists’ catalogues.

Billy Cobham’s Stratus brought jazz-fusion into the room, while Another Day in Paradise pulled the set toward Phil Collins. Ginger Stardust and Windmill sat comfortably beside both. Released two days later, the official recording catches a band moving between long-form jams and familiar songs without treating either as a detour. In the Santa Cruz Mountains, the set simply kept opening new doors.
