Soulive Filled Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas with Friends

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas opened to the public on March 8, 2014 with Soulive starting as a trio. Before the evening was over, the stage had become considerably more crowded.
The Shady Horns joined for “Flurries” and stayed. Nigel Hall helped finish the first set, and George Porter Jr. appeared on “Lay Away” before returning for much of the second. All the guests gathered for a James Brown medley at the end.
The public show followed a friends-and-family event the previous night, a distinction easily lost in an opening-weekend story. What happened on Saturday had its own shape: Eric Krasno and Neal and Alan Evans gradually expanded the band around them, giving the new Las Vegas room an introduction through the musicians in their circle.
