The Allman Brothers Band’s Final Night at the Beacon

On October 28, 2014, The Allman Brothers Band played its final concert at New York’s Beacon Theatre. The choice brought the group back to the room that had anchored its annual New York tradition since 1989.

The farewell stretched into a marathon, then closed with “Whipping Post,” spoken thanks from the stage and “Trouble No More.” That last song reached back to the band’s first concert in 1969, giving the final set a deliberate connection to the beginning.

For Beacon Theatre, the night completed one of the strongest long-term relationships between a touring band and a single room. The Allman Brothers’ Beacon runs had become part of the venue’s identity, and the group chose that stage for its last public chapter.
