The Gorge Amphitheatre

George, Washington, United States

Why it matters

Few venues make the setting feel this enormous. The stage looks out across the Columbia River Gorge, and the distance from major cities turns the trip, campground and show into one continuous experience.

Getting there

This is a drive-first venue in a remote part of central Washington. Plan fuel, food and timing before you get close. Camping is a major part of the experience for multi-night runs and removes the post-show drive.

Bag policy

Small clutches, wristlets or fanny packs up to 6 x 9 in are allowed, along with clear plastic bags up to 12 x 12 x 6 in. Hydration packs are permitted with restrictions and must be empty on entry.

Local tips

Treat it like a small road trip, not a city concert. Sun, wind and temperature swings are real. Bring layers, sunscreen and water, and expect rough, hilly terrain. If you camp, organize your site before heading into the venue.
