Know Before You Go

Why it matters

Drake Underground is the basement room beneath the Drake Hotel and one of Toronto's most reliable stages for emerging indie, electronic, hip-hop and global artists. Its small scale lets new acts feel fully formed before they move to the city's larger rooms.

Getting there

The venue is at Queen Street West and Beaconsfield Avenue on the 501 streetcar line. The Dufferin bus is nearby; street parking is limited and weekend traffic on Queen can be slow.

Bag policy

Ticket Purchase reports bag checks for live events at Drake Underground and says large bags may be refused. No maximum dimensions are provided. Confirm with the venue before bringing a larger bag.

Local tips

The entrance and lineup are at the hotel, but the room is downstairs. Check age restrictions, arrive early for sold-out shows and expect a low-ceilinged standing room rather than hotel-lounge seating.
