Billie Eilish’s Toronto Stop Was Below the Drake

Before the arena dates, Billie Eilish had an October 14, 2017 booking at the Drake Underground. The Toronto room was the only Canadian stop listed in the announcement for her first North American tour, supporting the debut EP dont smile at me.

She was fifteen, and the tour was already sold out when the EP arrived that August. In Toronto, the destination was a hotel basement on Queen Street West, a room whose history includes early visits from artists who later played much larger stages.

That scale is the point of the Drake connection. The booking catches Eilish during the first EP and first touring chapter, when a Toronto audience could hear those songs in a small club beneath a hotel.
