Elton John played two sold-out concerts at Dodger Stadium on October 25 and 26, 1975. More than 100,000 people attended across the weekend, according to his official retrospective, turning the ballpark into a major stop in his performing history.
The afternoon bill included Emmylou Harris and the James Gang. Elton began at the piano before the full band joined him; the costumes eventually included the sparkling Dodgers uniform that became inseparable from photographs of the shows.
The stadium’s identity was folded directly into the performance. That uniform made the venue visible even in close-up images of the singer, giving the weekend a recognizable visual memory as well as its place on the tour calendar.
