On August 28 and 29, 1964, The Beatles played Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in Queens. Their official tour archive lists both dates as sold out. New York’s stop on that summer tour took place in a setting built for a very different kind of crowd.
The shows came after stops including the Hollywood Bowl and Denver’s Red Rocks, with Atlantic City next on the itinerary. Forest Hills was part of a fast-moving route across North America, with two nights reserved for the New York audience.
For the stadium, those dates remain a clear connection between its tennis identity and its concert history. The Beatles passed through during their first full American tour, leaving two August nights attached to the Forest Hills name.
