The Story

THE STORY

105 Second Avenue.

Bill Graham opened Fillmore East in March 1968 inside a former movie theatre on Manhattan's Lower East Side.

It lasted barely three years.

That was enough time for the room to become attached to some of the most durable live recordings and performances of its era.

Jimi Hendrix played there. The Grateful Dead returned again and again. Derek and the Dominos recorded there. The Allman Brothers Band played four sets in March 1971 that became the backbone of At Fillmore East.

By June 1971, the doors were closed.

The building survived.

The room didn't.

The Fillmore East Archive Edition records the address, operating years, short history and selected nights from a venue that managed to fit a ridiculous amount of history into one small stretch of Second Avenue.

Only 50 copies of this edition will be issued.

Edition Details

Each venue in The Rooms We Lost: Archive Editions is released in a strictly limited edition of 50.

The art print itself is produced on demand and is not individually numbered. Your order also includes a separate CouchLot archive pack containing an individually numbered edition placard and a souvenir ticket stub tied to one selected historic show at the venue.

Only 50 numbered placards will be issued for each venue edition.

Once all 50 are gone, that edition closes. The same design will not be reprinted.
