Why it matters

Merriweather is one of the classic East Coast amphitheatres, with a wooded setting, a distinctive pavilion and decades of touring history. It feels more integrated into its surroundings than many modern sheds.

Getting there

Parking is free for concertgoers and spread across multiple lots around downtown Columbia. Follow event signage rather than assuming the closest lot will be open when you arrive.

Bag policy

All bags are searched. Permitted bags and clear backpacks cannot exceed 13 x 15 in. Backpack-style purses and backpacks are prohibited unless they are clear plastic and within the size limit.

Local tips

Downtown Columbia is built around paths, lots and separate development zones, so note your parking lot before the show. Give yourself time for the walk and do not count on finding your car by instinct after dark.
