Know Before You Go

Why it matters

Haw River Ballroom makes the old mill part of the concert. Opened in 2011 in Saxapahaw's former Dye House, it spreads across three floors beside the river, with a deck and courtyard outside. Solar and geothermal systems sit behind the industrial setting. The room has hosted artists from Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings to Big Thief and Sylvan Esso, and the latter's WITH LOVE sessions give the building a recorded life as well as a touring one.

Getting there

The entrance is down the hill beyond the General Store and Left Bank Butchery, next to Haw River Farmhouse Ales. Use the venue's designated parking areas, including the Hawbridge Upper School lot, signed Pine/Hilltop areas and the gravel lot behind the museum. Do not park on roadside verges, private yards or across gates. Arrange the return journey in advance rather than relying on an immediate rideshare pickup.

Bag policy

The official FAQ currently says there is no bag policy or routine bag check and bags need not be clear. Recheck the event instructions before attending.

Local tips

Most concerts are standing; seated events are identified in their listings. Request limited accessible seating from the box office after purchasing tickets. An exterior step-free route reaches the Cup 22 level. Bring an empty water bottle. Downstairs bars are cash-only, while Cup 22 also accepts cards. For food, look to nearby village businesses rather than expecting meals inside the ballroom.
