Know Before You Go

Why it matters

Bowery Ballroom is one of New York's defining club rooms, with a clear stage, strong sound and a booking history built around artists on the verge of becoming much larger. The preserved Lower East Side building gives a 575-person show genuine character.

Getting there

The venue is beside the Bowery J and Z station; Grand Street on the B and D is also close. Driving is a poor choice because curb space is scarce and nearby garages are expensive.

Bag policy

All bags are searched. Large backpacks, suitcases, beach bags and equipment bags are prohibited under The Bowery Presents policy; bags do not need to be clear.

Local tips

The upstairs bar opens before the concert floor, which helps manage the line. Arrive early for the front rail or balcony edge, and expect the best sightlines to disappear quickly at a sold-out show.
