Know Before You Go

Why it matters

Antone's is Austin's foundational blues club, opened in 1975 and tied to artists including Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and generations of Texas musicians. Its current downtown room keeps the tradition active with local residencies and touring blues, soul and roots acts.

Getting there

The club is on East Fifth Street downtown. Downtown Station on CapMetro Rail and many bus routes are close; parking garages are easier than street parking.

Bag policy

Small bags and clutches are permitted and recommended to speed up security screening.

Large backpacks and oversized bags are generally discouraged or restricted due to the intimate standing-room capacity (~400 people) on the main floor.

Medical and necessary bags are allowed, though all items and bags are subject to search by security at the door.

Local tips

Residencies and late sets are part of the culture, so read the full bill and timing. Arrive early for a clear view and leave room to browse the attached record shop when open.
