Why it is worth visiting

Swaggie’s downtown shop makes it possible to shop for records without leaving the central Nashville part of the day. Its catalogue gives jazz, reggae and blues clear space alongside rock, country and other releases. This is the Union Street branch, with an entrance at Third Avenue North, rather than the second store in Donelson. That distinction is easy to lose when a search returns only the business name. For someone staying downtown or heading to the Ryman, it adds a record browse to the same area without pretending that every Nashville shop is nearby.

What you will find

New and used vinyl, selected CDs, music merchandise and record accessories. The online genre sections are a useful way to identify the kind of stock to ask about at the downtown branch.

Genre strengths: Jazz, Reggae, Blues, Rock, Country

Getting there

211 Union Street, with the entrance at the corner of Union and Third Avenue North. The Ryman is farther south downtown. Swaggie’s Donelson address is a different branch and a separate trip.

Local tips

Specify Union Street when asking about stock or opening hours. Swaggie’s Donelson branch uses a different address and schedule.
