The Weakerthans put Winnipeg streets, working lives and unlikely narrators inside guitar songs written by John K. Samson. Left and Leaving, Reconstruction Site and Reunion Tour move between brisk punk-informed rock and quieter arrangements. A cat named Virtute and a disillusioned bus driver sit alongside the band's portraits of its home city; Live at the Burton Cummings Theatre captures those songs in front of a Winnipeg audience.
