Ray Manzarek's organ and keyboard bass gave the Doors an unusual foundation for Jim Morrison's voice, Robby Krieger's guitar and John Densmore's jazz-informed drumming. Their debut moves from Light My Fire to the extended drama of The End. Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman draw more heavily on blues, showing a less ornate side of the Los Angeles band's sound.
