FACS make sparse, rhythm-heavy art rock, using guitar, bass and drums without filling every gap. The Chicago group grew out of Disappears and released Negative Houses in 2018. On the 2025 album Wish Defense, returning member Jonathan Van Herik plays bass alongside guitarist Brian Case and drummer Noah Leger, reversing the instrumental roles of the band's first recordings.
