FACS Turned an Empty Lincoln Hall into a Chicago-Made Record

When touring stopped in 2020, FACS had just released Void Moments. A collaboration with Audiotree’s STAGED series brought the Chicago band back to Lincoln Hall for a fully produced performance without an audience.

The resulting live LP was limited to 300 copies, with proceeds intended to help finance the next album. Its credits trace a local chain of work: Audiotree recorded and mixed the show, Jeremy Lemos mastered it at the Steam Room, Matthew Barnhart cut the lacquer at Chicago Mastering, and Smashed Plastic pressed the vinyl.

Released in October 2020, FACS – Lincoln Hall 2020 turned one interrupted touring year into support for another recording. The empty room was the starting point; Chicago’s recording and manufacturing community carried the performance the rest of the way.
