Near the end of Nirvana’s October 23, 1993 show at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom, the set took a detour. Dave Grohl introduced “All Apologies,” but the band played another song first: “You Know You’re Right.”
LiveNIRVANA’s concert archive identifies the Aragon performance as the song’s only known live outing. That careful qualification is part of what makes the recording valuable. A single documented appearance gives this particular Chicago night a place in the band’s history that a routine tour stop would not have.
“All Apologies” followed, and the show continued. The rarity sat inside the set, between songs, in a room now known as Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom.
