Cloud Nothings Let Brooklyn Hear the Whole New Record

Cloud Nothings arrived at Baby’s All Right on January 16, 2014 with an album to reveal. The Brooklyn audience heard all eight new songs, months before the studio record’s release.

At the time, even the title and release date had yet to be announced. The set moved from “Quieter Today” through “I’m Not Part of Me,” then closed with older material. An audience recording briefly circulated online the following day.

The record would become Here and Nowhere Else. But this was an earlier encounter with it: a packed room hearing the sequence played by the band before the finished album arrived. For that audience, the introduction came through a concert set rather than a release-day stream.
