The Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley

The Greek Theatre is an 8,500-seat open-air amphitheatre built into the UC Berkeley hillside. Its semicircular concrete bowl, campus setting and open-air layout give large touring shows a setting that differs sharply from the Bay Area’s indoor arenas.

Use Downtown Berkeley BART and take AC Transit or walk uphill through campus. The climb is real, parking near the theatre is limited, and accessible drop-off should be arranged in advance.

Small personal bags and backpacks are allowed. Large backpacks are prohibited, and an individual event may impose stricter rules.

Stone benches get cold and uncomfortable after sunset. Personal seat cushions that lie flat and have no legs or hard frame are allowed; small blankets under 40 x 60 inches must stay within your ticketed area.
