NRG Stadium concert venue in Houston, Texas

Why it matters

NRG Stadium opened in 2002 as the NFL’s first retractable-roof stadium, giving Houston a climate-controlled option for huge events in a city where summer heat can dominate the experience. It hosts the Texans, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the largest touring productions.

Getting there

METRORail's Red Line reaches the NRG Park area and is the easiest alternative to driving. If you use the stadium lots, buy parking ahead and follow the entrance tied to your pass because the complex is large and different events can use different gates.

Bag policy

Before travelling to NRG Stadium, open its official A–Z, FAQ or guest guide and confirm the concert's bag dimensions. A small essentials-only setup is the safest choice when an event notice is more restrictive.

Local tips

METRORail’s Red Line stops at Stadium Park/Astrodome and is a strong alternative to the giant parking lots. The NRG complex is enormous, so save your gate and section before arriving. If a rodeo or convention event overlaps, expect the whole campus to operate at a different scale.
