GoldenLight Cafe & Cantina

GoldenLight Cafe & Cantina is the rare Route 66 stop where the roadside history and the music room are still part of the same living business. The cafe opened in 1946 at its present Sixth Avenue location, and the Cantina was added in 1996. Today touring and local bands still play next door to one of Amarillo's oldest continuously operating Route 66 restaurants.

GoldenLight is at 2906 SW 6th Avenue inside Amarillo's Historic Route 66 District. The corridor is walkable between restaurants, bars and shops, with street parking and small lots along Sixth Avenue; check event-night conditions before relying on a specific space.
