Know Before You Go
Why it matters
Citi Field has become New York's regular baseball-stadium concert alternative to arenas and MetLife Stadium. Its Queens location, large floor and upper decks can handle stadium tours while remaining directly connected to subway and commuter rail.
Getting there
Take the 7 train or Long Island Rail Road to Mets-Willets Point. Driving is possible through stadium lots, but event traffic around the Grand Central Parkway can be severe.
Bag policy
Purses, non-backpack diaper bags, totes, drawstring bags, messenger bags and small soft coolers up to 16 x 16 x 8 in are allowed. Opaque backpacks are prohibited; fully clear backpacks are allowed.
Local tips
Use rail unless the event schedule makes it impossible. Field tickets often have separate entry instructions, and upper-deck exposure makes weather planning important even when the stage is covered.
