Buddy Guy's Legends

700 S Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60605

Know Before You Go

Why it matters

Buddy Guy's Legends has been one of Chicago's defining blues rooms since Buddy Guy opened it in 1989. The club keeps the city’s living blues tradition in one place: touring headliners, veteran Chicago players, younger artists and Guy’s own annual January residency all share the same stage. For a Route 66 music journey beginning in Chicago, Legends gives the route a living blues starting point rather than a museum stop.

Getting there

Legends is at 700 South Wabash Avenue in the South Loop, near Balbo Drive and a short walk from Grant Park. There is no venue parking; use nearby paid garages, street parking, rideshare or CTA. The club sits one block north of its original location at Wabash and 8th.

Bag policy

No luggage, large bags, backpacks, briefcases or computer bags are allowed. Small bags and purses are subject to search.

Local tips

Seating is first come, first served and tables can fill well before the headliner, especially on weekends. Acoustic dinner sets before 8 p.m. are all ages; evening shows after 8 p.m. are 21+ with photo ID. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
