Know Before You Go
Why it matters
Bethel Woods places a modern summer amphitheatre on the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. The music history is literal, and the adjoining museum gives destination shows more context than a typical rural shed.
Getting there
Driving is the practical option in the Catskills. Buy parking in advance when offered, follow venue traffic routes rather than local shortcuts and allow substantial time for the final miles.
Bag policy
Main Pavilion concerts use a clear-bag policy. Event Gallery performances allow all bag types but encourage clear bags. Check the event page because the rule changes by performance space.
Local tips
Visit the museum earlier in the day if the schedule allows. Lawn conditions change with the weather, and post-show traffic is part of the trip, so do not build a tight return plan.
