Know Before You Go

Why it matters

The Aztec is a 1926 movie palace with elaborate Mesoamerican-inspired interiors, now used for major club and theatre-scale concerts. Its River Walk location gives touring rock, Latin, metal and alternative shows a setting that is unmistakably San Antonio.

Getting there

The theatre is downtown on Commerce Street beside the River Walk. VIA buses and downtown parking garages serve the area; hotel and tourist traffic slows curb access.

Bag policy

Bags must be no larger than 12 × 6 × 12 inches. Backpacks are prohibited. Security searches every bag before admission; non-clear bags receive an additional search.

Local tips

Check whether the floor is seated or standing and allow time to move through downtown crowds. The ornate lobby is worth seeing, but stair and balcony access should be confirmed when buying.
