Mr. Brightside and Somebody Told Me introduced the Killers' mix of sharp guitar lines, synthesizers and Brandon Flowers' dramatic vocals on Hot Fuss. The Las Vegas band's Sam's Town leaned further into American rock, while Pressure Machine took a quieter route through stories inspired by Flowers' upbringing in Utah. Drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. gives the arrangements much of their forward motion.
