Lisa and Roberta Morales grew up in Tucson singing Mexican music together before reuniting professionally in 1989 and building Sisters Morales in Texas. Their records mixed English and Spanish songs with country, rock, blues, folk and Mexican roots, held together by close sibling harmonies. Roberta died in 2021, leaving the group's four-album run as a distinct chapter in Texas roots music.
