Miranda Lambert writes country songs with pointed characters and a willingness to leave the rough edges in. Kerosene and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend put that approach against loud guitars, while The Weight of These Wings makes room for quieter, more reflective material. Alongside her solo records, she formed Pistol Annies with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, sharing lead vocals and writing across the trio's songs.
