Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie first became a major songwriter and vocalist with the Commodores, then moved into a solo career that made his ballads and polished pop-soul nearly unavoidable in the 1980s. Songs such as All Night Long, Hello and Dancing on the Ceiling sit alongside the quieter writing that had already produced Commodores standards like Easy and Three Times a Lady.
