Gloria Estefan

Gloria Estefan sang lead for Miami Sound Machine as Conga and Rhythm Is Gonna Get You brought Latin percussion into English-language pop radio. Her solo catalogue includes the ballads of Cuts Both Ways and the Spanish-language Mi Tierra, which draws directly on Cuban musical traditions. The contrast between dance records and intimate singing is central to her work.
