Emmylou Harris

Emmylou Harris' recordings with Gram Parsons helped shape the country-rock approach she carried into Pieces of the Sky and Elite Hotel. Her voice and choice of songs link traditional country to folk and bluegrass, often through close collaboration with other singers. Wrecking Ball, produced by Daniel Lanois, placed that voice in a more atmospheric setting, while At the Ryman returned to an acoustic ensemble.
