Legacy / Inactive

Daryl Hall & John Oates drew on Philadelphia soul while developing a pop-rock partnership built around distinct vocal and instrumental roles. Abandoned Luncheonette includes She's Gone; Voices, Private Eyes and H2O move toward tighter rhythms and synthesizers. Songs such as I Can't Go for That (No Can Do) show how much space the duo could leave inside an apparently simple pop arrangement.
