Bon Iver

Justin Vernon introduced Bon Iver with For Emma, Forever Ago, using layered voices and sparse instruments around songs recorded in Wisconsin. The self-titled follow-up opened those arrangements into a larger ensemble. On 22, A Million, processed vocals, samples and electronic disruption became part of the writing itself. Across these changes, the project has kept the tension between intimate singing and unfamiliar sound.
