Legacy / Inactive

Bo Diddley made rhythm the centre of his guitar playing, using clipped chords and a syncopated beat that became a rock-and-roll staple. His 1955 debut paired the songs Bo Diddley and I'm a Man; later records included Have Guitar, Will Travel and Bo Diddley Is a Gunslinger. The rectangular guitar was part of a broader interest in unusual instruments, tone and stage presentation.
