Founded in 1945, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra grew into one of the major American orchestras and a recording institution with a particularly deep choral legacy. The ASO Chorus, founded by Robert Shaw in 1970, became central to that identity; under music director Nathalie Stutzmann, the orchestra continues a schedule spanning classical programs, recordings and major collaborations.
