Alex Henry Foster moved from fronting Montreal's Your Favorite Enemies into long-form solo music built from layered guitars, spoken passages and gradual changes in volume. Windows in the Sky introduced that approach on record. Standing Under Bright Lights documents its live expansion at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, with songs stretched into extended ensemble performances.
