Alabama

Alabama grew from the Fort Payne cousins' long residency at Myrtle Beach's Bowery into one of the biggest country groups of the 1980s. Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook paired family harmonies with country, Southern rock and pop arrangements, helping establish the self-contained band, rather than a solo singer with hired players, as a mainstream Nashville force.
