The Nectar Run That Became Calm Down Cologne

In 2019, Garage A Trois reunited its original Charlie Hunter, Skerik and Stanton Moore lineup for a sold-out three-night run at Nectar Lounge.

Between shows, the trio carried gear across the street to Stone Gossard’s Studio Litho and improvised for several hours. The drums went back to the venue for that night’s concert, while the studio session became the album Calm Down Cologne.

The distinction is important: the record was not made inside Nectar Lounge. It was recorded across the street, but the reunion run created the reason and the narrow window for the session to happen.
